The 2018 Karnia-Ruthenia general election took place from 09 to 16 August, having been announced just a month earlier by Emperor-King Oscar on 30 June 2018 after declared the end of the works of the I Legislature of the Imperial Diet. On 02 July 2018, Wilhelm von und zu Hochbach, Minister of Justice and head of the electoral justice during the election issued a ministerial order to regulate the ways and vehicles by which the voting would take place[1] and other about the deadlines for electoral enlistment and electoral period[2].
The elections were the first following the Electoral Code of 2018, which had established new directives, and strengthened the electoral process which, prior to and only during Ruthenian general election, 2016, depended exclusively on a law and was essentially rudimentary. On 19 July 2018, Oscar I created the four electoral districts of the Empire: the North American District, the South American District and the Asian-Antarctic District, all the three with one Representative each and the European District, divided in Western and Eastern Districts, with two Representatives[3].
The election would not happen until 2019, during the 2019 Karno-Ruthenian general election.
