Andre Igino Chalegre (born 07 November 1999), is a Brazilian micronationalist and was the first Grand Prince, and later, Czærisgrav of Xingu. Formerly, he occupied several political positions in the administration of the United Provinces of Mauritia, Kingdom of Manso, Lourensia and Gardenland, and was the founder and first King of the Union of the Provinces of Xingu, reformed into the State of Xingu after the signature of the Treaty of Ambé. In April 2022, he was made Duke of Chalegre and Prince of Lourensia by Oscar I. He abdicated his throne on 31 December 2022, and left Micronationalism for retirement.

Micronational carrer[edit | edit source]

Réunion and Mauritia[edit | edit source]

Decree that appointed the Baron of Louwrens as Governor-General in Mauritia.

André Igino Chalegre, using the name of André de Louwrens started his micronational life as a citizen of the Holy Empire of Réunion, member of the ARENA Party in Conservatoria, also serving as Mayor of Saint-Pierre in 2015. He emigrated to the United Provinces of Mauritia, where gained prestige enough to be made Baron of Noortarx[1][2] in the very exclusive Mauritaanse nobility, also being granted with the Royal Order of the Merit of Barlæus, the first to be awarded such honor, due his fight for freedom of press between 2017 and 2018.

He established independent and state-owned newspapers, some even abroad and in Portuguese, caughting the attention from oligarchs that opposed to his views. As journalist, wrote several articles criticizing dictators all over the Lusophone sector, even exposing plans of sabotage, scandals, violations of human rights, terrorist attacks, false accusations of xenophobia and violation of Mauritaanse customs.

Despite his notable work ahead of "The Aurora"[3], the most important newspaper of Mauritia at that time, he served as Minister of Sports during the year of 2017 and was the responsible for the National League of Football of Mauritia happened. Contributed to Mauritaanse economy as well, reverting his payments to infraestructure and was one of the wealthiest citizens of Mauritia. With such background, he was appointed Governor-General[4] of some provinces of Mauritia. He served too within the Royal Army, leading the agency of intelligence.

Lourensia[edit | edit source]

By his personal convictions, he left Mauritia to found Lourensia, and when he abdicated to return to Mauritia, his titles were restored - a very rare privilege - but his return lasted a week, abandon Mauritia a second time and returning to Lourensia to help his two successors on the throne (Mateus I, Duque of Mendes and Mateus II, Baron d'Anchieta). Both saw André as an inspiration, an advisor who teached them the good micronational practice, despite their short careers.

Lourensia was made a vassal state in federal union with the Kingdom of Manso during the second semester of 2018, being recognized as an archduchy. The now Archduke André was raised the the highest position within the Royal Armed Forces of Manso but acted on behalf of Manso only for a short time, since Lourensia declared its independence and then decayed to inactivity in 2019.

Gardenland[edit | edit source]

Gardenland as a sucessor state of Lourensia had informal recognition of most of Lusophone and Brazilian sectors. The government of Gardenland originally claimed to be a "Holy Empire", dropping this nomenclature to "Kingdom" and then, downgraded to a barony and finally, a principality. Although its formidable diplomatic service and its active voice on international affairs, Gardenland pursued an isolationist stance albeit exceptions could be verified, as the relations with Karnia-Ruthenia and the Republic of Guanália.

With citizens in Brazil, India and Netherlands, Gardenland existed for a whole year, being dissolved by its own citizens du inactivity. During that period, André planned to establish a "Duchy of Riverland", but the idea was never carried. However, this project became the basis for the Union of Provinces of Xingu, a federal union headed by a king, restoring and uniting Lourensia and Gardenland, marking its existence not only de jure, but also de facto.

Xingu[edit | edit source]

At principle, Xingu was a decentralized kingdom, but this system didn't worked well since the beggining, fracturing the micronation. André, founder and King of Xingu was almost abdicating again and leaving to exile on Réunion, Manso or Karnia-Ruthenia where he eventually gained citizenship and support for Xingu. Once signed the Treaty of Ambé, the union of provinces were reformed into the State of Xingu and he assumed the title of Grand Prince of Upper and Lower Xingu, the headship of government and state of Xingu and the titles of Duque of Chalegre and the now mediatized title of Prince of Lourensia.
On New Year's Day 2022, André renounced the throne of Xingu, appointed Diogenes, Regent of the Empire of Cimbres as his immediate successor, and left Micronationalism for retirement.
On 13 January 2023, André renounced his Karno-Ruthenian citizenship.[5]. On the same day, the Emperor-King rescinded all honors bestowed upon him and curtailed André's ability to use Karno-Ruthenian titles abroad.[6]
