Artemis Corona, officialy Duchy of Artemis Corona and sometimes shortern Corona, is a Lomellinian colony and part of the Lomellinian Galactic Empire, located in planet Venus. Artemis is an unusual feature on Venus as it has been interpreted to be the site of plate tectonics operating on a regional scale.
There are grabens and compressional arcs which rise above the surrounding plains. As a whole, Artemis is not elevated like other coronae. Regions within Artemis are in fact some 4 km below the surrounding plains. The differences between the highest and the lowest point within Artemis are in the order of 7.5 km.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Named after Artemis, the virgin goddess of hunting, it is the largest corona on Venus, with a diameter of 2,600 kilometers. It is largely enclosed by the near circular Artemis Chasma - a circular belt of arc-shaped features believed to be largely of compressional origin.

Pre-colonial[edit | edit source]
Little is known about the one of the regions of Aphrodite Terra. Venus has the densest atmosphere of the four terrestrial planets, consisting of more than 96% carbon dioxide. The atmospheric pressure at the planet's surface is 92 times that of Earth's. With a mean surface temperature of 735 K (462 °C; 863 °F), Venus is by far the hottest planet in the Solar System. So life is at leat 15% possible for some species of bacteria however no data as been found.
LGE's claim[edit | edit source]
On 9 September 2014 the Lomellinian Galactic Empire under the control of the Principality of Lomellina claimed Artemis Corona and 2 other colonies, Tethis Regio and Ovda Regio and annexed it to the Empire under the Grand-Duchy of Venus.
Empress D. Tânya pretends to colonize Venus with human but due to extremely hostile conditions, a surface colony on Venus is not possible with current technology. The atmospheric pressure and temperature approximately fifty kilometres above the surface are similar to those at Earth's surface and Earth air (nitrogen and oxygen) would be a lifting gas in the Venusian atmosphere of mostly carbon dioxide. This has led to proposals for "floating cities" in the Venusian atmosphere.

The Duchy of Artemis Corona is ruled by a Duke or a Duchess that are obligated to follow the laws and the traditions of the Grand-Duchy of Venus wich is controled over the Lomellinian Galactic Empire.
