Archduke August of Karnia is a member of House of Götzö-Thomaz-Rocha as the ninth child and seventh son of Archduke Anton of Karnia and his wife, Archduchess Judith of Karnia. After the lost of rights of his older brothers and the succession rights being invested in his older brother, Archduke Ari, he was the first in line to suceed his brother as head of the house until 1991, when Oscar I was born.
He renounced his rights of sucession after his marriage, but his title and style was confirmed by his nephew, Oscar I. From the marriage with Archduchess Josianne, they had three children: Archduke Joseph of Karnia, Archduchess Jessica of Karnia and Archduchess Esther of Karnia.
