Castello di Valle, sometimes referred as Castello di Valle Lomellina is the capital of the Principality of Lomellina and seat of power of its Prince, even that the monarch doesn't live there. Founded by Valerano Bartolomeo Lomellini II somewhere in the 14th Century, it's population isn't assigned at the moment but it is belived that no one makes residence at the Castello.

The medieval castle was one of the most important strongholds of Lomellina and constituted, together with the castles of Sartirana Lomellina, Frascarolo and Lomello, the defensive belt of the south-western part of the Duchy of Milan. The building, built in the fourteenth century, stands at the center of Valle Lomellina and is characterized by a plant in a semicircle with loggias and windows with pointed arches.

The actual Prince of Lomellina inherited the Castello di Valle after his discovery that he descent from de Lomellinis, a powerfull and mighty Italian family who had great posessions and were founders of numerous villas arround Pavia, one of them being Valle Lomellina, where Castello di Valle is located.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Castello di Valle is named after the comune (Valle Lomellina) wich the castle is located according to Italy, it's country de facto. This stands for di Valle, as for Castello, it's a simple translation of Castle, the structure-type of the building.

Castello di Valle Treaty (CVT)[edit | edit source]

Castello di Valle was the place for the CVT's ratification on 2 September 2014. The treaty is a post-result of the dissolved Intercontinental Micronational Alliance, a mistaken organization created with the same objective of a diplomatic treaty. The treaty was signed with the aim of helping diplomatic relations between the micronations, with a general focus on its own member states, being cultural, security, scientific or foreign improvement.
