Jordan Brizendine, formerly known by the pseudonym David "Sarky" Sarkozy, is a prominent Delveran and Karno-Ruthenian politician and military officer. He was the founder of Salania and the Commonwealth of Lavrasia, and later the architect of the Commonwealth's secession from the NottaLottan Empire, forming the Grand Republic of Delvera. Brizendine was also instrumental in the development of the Delveran Armed Services and its later incorporation into the Armed Forces of Karnia-Ruthenia and currently serves as the military governor of Temeswaria.
Career[edit | edit source]
Politics[edit | edit source]
Brizendine has been involved in micronationalism since July 2008, when he created the Republic of Salania. In 2010, he entered the MicroWiki community as Emperor of the Holy Salanian Empire. He left MicroWiki in early 2011, forming the Grand Republic of Salania, which opted to become a vassal of NottaLotta Acres. This created the NottaLottan Empire.
In July 2011, Brizendine was appointed Lord Governor of the Commonwealth of Lavrasia by Dylan Callahan, then Secretary of State of the NottaLottan Empire. As Lord Governor, he expanded the citizen base of the Commonwealth, authored all pieces of legislation, began developing the economy, and led the movement to secede from the NLE. Upon establishment of the Grand Republic of Delvera in May 2013, he became the first Consul, also retaining his position as Governor of Lavrasia. As Consul, he wrote the Declaration of Independence from the NottaLottan Empire, the Writ of Rights and the Delveran Constitution.
In July 2016, Brizendine was defeated in the consular election. He became President and Minister of State in the First Pemberton Cabinet (2016-2017). He was Dylan Callahan's Minister of the Interior on the Second Callahan Cabinet (2019-2020). He later served a second term as President in the Third Callahan Cabinet (2020-2021). He was Clerk of the Chamber of Deputies from 2016 until 2021, keeping records of all of the proceedings of that body.
In December 2021, Brizendine was appointed to serve in the III Legislature of the Imperial Diet. In October 2022, he was appointed by the Emperor to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs. His first task in this role was to organize and supervise the Karno-Ruthenian delegation to the Chicago edition of MicroCon 2023 in June-July 2023.
In the first election under the Decennial Constitution, Brizendine took second place to Casey Pemberton and was inaugurated the first Vice-Consul of the State of Delvera in May 2023.
Military[edit | edit source]
Brizendine was commissioned a Colonel in the NottaLottan Armed Forces in July 2011 and given command of the Army of the Commonwealth. He initiated regular training exercises and recruited many prominent service members of the ACL, and later the Delveran Armed Services. Under his leadership, the Army grew from a force of five unequipped, unarmed, and untrained recruits to the preeminent micronational military. He held Infantry and Field Artillery commands in the Grand Republican Army.
Brizendine served as Supreme Commander of the DAS from the formation of Delvera to 31 January 2017, when he resigned due to personal time constraints. He was again appointed to the position by Consul Dylan Callahan in 2021 and held it until unification with Karnia-Ruthenia in December.
Brizendine was given command of the Karno-Ruthenian Sixth Army in January 2022, position he occupied until 18 October 2023. In this position, he worked to standardize the Imperial Army's organizational system, symbols, and uniforms. On 10 October 2023, he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Karno-Ruthenian Armed Forces, and on 18 October, he was appointed Grand Voivode of Temeswaria, the military governor on behalf of the Emperor.
Brizendine attended Prezan Military Academy, graduating the Basic Course on 27 September 2023 and the Advanced Course on 27 November 2023.
Culture[edit | edit source]
Brizendine composed and wrote the lyrics for "Oh, Fatherland", the National Anthem of the Commonwealth of Lavrasia and later the Grand Republic of Delvera, in 2012. He also wrote “Inseparable”, an anthem for Karnia-Ruthenia, in 2023.
Brizendine created the Delveran Heritage Festival in early 2015. He is also known for creating a few notable symbols, such as the flags of Lavrasia and Ozarkana.
Media[edit | edit source]
Brizendine founded the Lavrada Bannerman, the foremost news source in Delvera. He also created all of the Delveran Armed Services' publicity videos.
Diplomacy[edit | edit source]
Brizendine authored the Missouri Compact, a treaty that resolved a border dispute between Delvera and the North American Confederation, in October 2015. In October, he was appointed Ambassador to the North American Confederation due to his experience and relative esteem with that nation.
Brizendine served as a delegate to the Congress of Colo in 2017, where he helped author the 2017 Convention on Intermicronational Order.
Brizendine played a large role in the negotiation and execution of Delvera's mergers with the North American Confederation (2017) and the Karno-Ruthenian Empire (2021).
Brizendine was a significant contributor to the success of the Karno-Ruthenian delegation to MicroCon 2023, for which he was honored with the victory title "Prince Brizendine von Warwick".
Personal life[edit | edit source]
Brizendine was born in early 1995 in Missouri. Formerly active in macronational politics, he has since moved away from public demonstrations of his views. He is an advocate of fraternalism, and has held leadership positions in several fraternal organizations. He joined the Army National Guard in 2021. He was married to Ping Liao on 2 October 2021, the couple divorced in 2023.
Education[edit | edit source]
Brizendine holds a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies from Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. He attended Qingdao University in Qingdao, China as an exchange student for one year.
