Denise of Karnia-Ruthenia (born 16 June 1964) is the first and current Queen of Pannonia and was the first Queen of Ameroslavia and Queen of Ruthenia, is the wife of Archduke Ari of Karnia and is mother of Emperor-King Oscar of Karnia-Ruthenia. Her family background is a pivotal part of the inspiration behind the Kingdom of Ruthenia and its sucessor state, the Karno-Ruthenian Empire. She was the second head of the Karno-Ruthenian Red Cross.

Life and marriage[edit | edit source]

Denise was born at Winter Residence of the Goëtzën family - now known as Hofbau Palace, in São Paulo, Brazil, the second child of Count Michael von Goëtzën, and his first wife, Countess Theresa von Goëtzën. She was baptised at St. Stephen of Hungary's Church on 1970, the same place where his only child would be baptized on 1996. Denise and his elder brother, Wladimir, spent their youth in a difficult relationship scarred by their parents turbulent marriage and eventual separation and divorce. His brother would die childless on 1992. His father married again, but without children from this relationship and died on 2015. Her mother also married again, with no children from this relationship, dying in 1989.

In the 1980's, she married Archduke Ari of Karnia. It was the only child of such couple, Oscar, to usher in this family with the actual status in 2014. At birth the king, who already boasted a courtesy title of (Count von Goëtzën), families make appear in documents that were known as "Götzö and Thomaz-Rocha", although it is more common to use the last name, and after his coronation, the king has signed as "Oscar of Ruthenia". After the death of his grandfather, Michael von Goëtzën, Oscar of Ruthenia took the title of Count of Bihar, since he was the last male member of the family still alive.

On 09 May 2018, she was created Duchess of Sasso-Koharové by force of the Imperial Decree n. 139-2O18, who recreated this foreign title as the title of the Imperial Family. On 21 October 2019, she was made the leader of the Karno-Ruthenian Red Cross, a position she occupied since 05 September 2019. She was the most important female figure of the Imperial Court during the time her son didn't engaged in any relationship. For her widely known services ahead the Red Cross, she was recognized not only within the Empire, but abroad as well, receiving the Grand Cross of the Royal Order of the Crown of Vishwamitra.

On 25 November 2021, an ammendment was decreed by Emperor Oscar I, recognizing retroactively the title and style of Their Imperial and Royal Majesties, the Emperors of Karnia and Kings of Ruthenia to his parents, Archduke Ari and Archduchess Denise. Despite no real change, it was seen as a show of respect to his parents.

On 08 March 2022, she received the Tanishkaa Patranabish Medal for Excellence, an all-female state decoration conferred jointly by the Rashtradhyaksh of Vishwamitra and Her Exalted Highness, Tanishkaa Patranabish, Rajpramukh of Beltola. She received the order for her outstanding services to society and the Empire. In the decree, she was for the first time mentioned as former Empress of Karnia, but also incorrectly appointed as Empress-Mother of Karnia-Ruthenia.

On 22 July 2022, her son accepted on behalf of his father the Crown of Ameroslavia. She once again became Queen of a newly-founded kingdom. After a short reign in Ameroslavia and its disestablishment, her husband reigned over the Provisional Government of the State of Slavs of America without a proper title or style, reason why it's counted as her tenure as Queen of Ameroslavia. On 14 August 2022, she received her new title of Queen of Pannonia, following the establishment of Pannonia to suceed both Ameroslavia and the State of Slavs of America.
