Archduke Helio of Karnia is a member of House of Götzö-Thomaz-Rocha as the eleventh child and ninth son of Archduke Anton of Karnia and his wife, Archduchess Judith of Karnia. After the lost of rights of his older brothers and the succession rights being invested in his older brother, Archduke Ari, he was the second in line to suceed his brother as head of the house until 1991, when Oscar I was born.

He retain his rights of sucession, and married a cousin, Archduchess Mary. They have two children: Archduke Ítalo, that later became King of Taslavia, and Archduchess Maria Clara of Karnia.
