The Imperial and Royal Collection is a collection of several itens received by the Karno-Ruthenian Emperor during its reign, the collection is currently owned by Oscar I and overseen by the Ministry of the Imperial and Royal Household. The letters and decorations received, as much as all micronational material are archived in the Collection, and several banknotes and coins of the private collection of Oscar I were donated, with other numismatic itens being added to over time.

It is made up of several objects: including dozens of banknotes, coins, letters and letter patents, postcards and medals. The collection's market value equates to US$ 2,000, and it is the most important collection in Karnia-Ruthenia and one of the most important numismatic collections of micronationalism, the largest in South America.

History

The Collections was established in 2014 as the Royal Collection and renamed as Imperial and Royal Collection in 2016. The contents of the Collection are divided into five collections: banknotes, coins, letters, postcards and medals. An inventory of the collection was started in April 2021, but the full inventory is not available to the public, though catalogues of parts of the collection have been published, and a searchable database on the Libertian Archives website is increasingly comprehensive. Itens as paintings, furniture, decorative arts, costumes and jewellery are part of the Imperial Treasury and compose the patrimony of the Imperial House.

Ownership

The Collection is privately owned, although some of the works are displayed to visitors for the public to enjoy. Some of the collection is owned by the monarch personally, and everything else is described as being held in trust by the monarch in right of the Crown. It is understood that items the imperial family acquired after the ascension of Oscar I, including official gifts, can be added to the collection by a monarch at his or her discretion.

Management

The Ministry of the Household have a mandate to conserve the works and enhance the public's appreciation and understanding of the exposed pieces. The Collection is financially dependent and receives funding exclusively from the Imperial Crown.
