Archduke Joseph of Karnia is a member of House of Götzö-Thomaz-Rocha as the first child and only son of Archduke August of Karnia and his wife, Archduchess Josianne of Karnia. After his father renounced his rights of sucession to marry his mother, his title and style, as long as of his offspring was confirmed by his cousin, Oscar I.
He is the twin brother of Archduchess Jessica and older brother of Archduchess Esther.
