Archduchess Mary of Karnia is a member of House of Götzö-Thomaz-Rocha by marriage as wife of Archduke Helio of Karnia, but is also a closer relative through the House of Thomaz-Rocha. Her husband is one of the few dynasts of his generation to retain his rights of succession to the Karno-Ruthenian throne, and their titles and places in line of succession were confirmed by her nephew, Oscar I.

She is the mother of Guilherme I Ítalo, King of Taslavia and Archduchess Maria Clara. Her older brother, after marry to Archduchess Celia, became known as Archduke Joseph Maximilian.
