The Imperial and Royal Ministry of War is the government department responsible the development of defensive policies of the Karno-Ruthenian Empire. It is one of the ministries created after the signature of the Karno-Ruthenian Compromise of 2016, replacing the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Ruthenia, predecessor state of Karnia-Ruthenia.

The Ministry of War is a joint ministry for all the parts of the Empire and the Armed Forces of Karnia-Ruthenia, as well as its branches, the Imperial and Royal Army, the Imperial and Royal Navy and the Imperial and Royal Aviation Troops are under ministerial administration.

The Minister of War is the head for the administration of all military affairs and for all questions related to national defence of the states members of the Empire, but the supreme command of the armed forces is vested in the monarch, who had the power to take all measures regarding the whole army as Commander-in-Chief.

After the publication of the new Constitution, the Ministry of War is renamed in Ministry of State of War. By Act L-A1-O2, Michael I, Duke of Appinfeldt becomes the Minister of State of War. On 09 February 2018, it was again renamed to Ministry of War.[1]
