The Province of Neosho, or Neosho ([Nee-OH-shoh]) is a province of the Grand Republic of Delvera. Neosho became a hub of economic and cultural activity following the appointment of prominent citizen Dylan Callahan to the positions of Minister of State and Minister of Commerce in 2015 and 2016.

History[edit | edit source]

Neosho was originally a military district, and was initially admitted as the "Military District of Neosho" on 22 December 2015 by First Consul and Delveran Armed Services Supreme Commander David Sarkozy as a main headquarters for the logistical and administrative operations of the DAS. The district was administrated by the Quartermaster of the DAS, Major Dylan Callahan. The district capital was Neosho Rapids, and this continued to be the official location of the capital until it was moved on November 23 2016 to its current location in NottaLotta Acres.

Neoshan citizens held a referendum on September 20 2016 to decide whether the district should apply for provincial status. The result was 100% in favor, with six votes cast out of seven registered voters. The district then successfully applied for provincial status on 21 September 2016 and was confirmed as a province by the Chamber of Deputies on on October 22, 2016. Following the application, Neosho held an election on September 28th for Governor and Deputy to the Confederal Chamber of Deputies. Maverick Callahan won governorship, beating out Edward Patterson 4-0, and Hannah Callahan won the race against Dylan Callahan for Deputy 4-0, as well.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

According to the June 2016 census, Neosho has 5 citizens, of which 3 are male and 2 are female. The largest age group of Neoshan citizens is 20-24 y/o (3 - 60%), followed by 25-29 (1 – 20%) and <8 (1 – 20%). All Neoshan citizens identify as unspecified Protestant Christians. 60% of Neoshan citizens are members of the national military.

Controversies[edit | edit source]

Neosho was originally founded as a military district, a type of region not officially outlined in the Delveran Constitution. When it was first established, several Delverans questioned the motives of the government and the legality of the move.[1]
