Archduke Pedro of Karnia is a member of House of Götzö-Thomaz-Rocha as the fifth child and fourth son of Archduke Anton of Karnia and his wife, Archduchess Judith of Karnia. After the lost of rights of his brothers Archduke Francis, Archduke Luitpold and Archduke George, he was the first in line to suceed his father as head of the house. He eventually renounced his rights of sucession after his first marriage, but his title and style was confirmed by his nephew, Oscar I.

From the first marriage with Archduchess Celia, he had a son, Archduke Alexander. After the passing of Archduchess Celia, he remarried a distant cousin, Archduchess Anna of Karnia and they had Archduke Danilo.
