Thomas de Cumagne was a Belgian micronationalist, the first King and founder of the Kingdom of Cumagne and from 21 April 2017 until 25 October 2017, he was the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Ambassador-at-Large to the French-speaking mincronations. He is now more famous for the act of high treason during the "Malaise" when he overthrew the national forum and accused the Emperor. He was later found guilty and convicted in the case The Empire vs. Thomas de Cumagne.
At the end of 2018, he attempted to return to the Empire, still requesting to maintain his titles and honors, his reinstatement to the military functions, to be Governor of the Imperial Bank and also Minister of Finance, a title of nobility for his companion and the accomplishment of coats of arms and titles he requested. The Imperial Government did not reply.
After a few days without response, he tried once more contact, this time under the name of "Albert, Duc de Sand", claiming desire to invest in the public finances of the Empire. Asked how he would do it, he claimed not to be Thomas of Cumagne and that the Emperor should be deposed, since he was a bad person. The Imperial Government, again, stopped responding.
